Our approach to sustainability

At SimplyExcess, we focus on doing one thing well — providing straightforward car hire excess insurance. But we’re also aware that car hire and travel come with an environmental cost.

Rather than overstate our role, we take a practical approach. We work with partners such as Tree-Nation, Ecologi and Make It Wild to support projects that reduce carbon and restore natural habitats.

We choose these partners carefully. There’s a lot of scepticism around “green” claims, and rightly so. That’s why we focus on initiatives that are transparent, measurable and built to last.

This includes supporting reforestation projects, both in the UK and internationally. For example, Make It Wild in Yorkshire contributes to long-term woodland creation, helping to absorb carbon while supporting local wildlife.

We also reward more sustainable choices where we can. Customers who opt for electric or hybrid rental vehicles can benefit from discounts on our single trip policies.

We are realistic about it: these may be small steps, but they’re practical and have a measurable impact. It’s simply part of how we operate.
